Assistant Principal/HS Biotech Pathway Mentor
Jennifer Lazare is a part of the InnovATEBIO High School Mentor Network Leader and Biology faculty, Austin Community College. Jennifer Lazare is an experienced educator, with a deep knowledge of what it takes to get started with high school biotechnology programs and keep them going. An integral team member in the NSF AC2 Bio-Link Regional Center, Lazare established a robust network of skilled biotech teachers throughout the state of Texas. Fortunately for students, Lazare is continuing her work as a curriculum developer and teacher mentor in the field of biotechnology education and has extensive experience with piloting at dual credit Entry Level Biotech Certificates at Anderson High School. InnovATEBIO has in their letter of support offered the state approved dual credit Biotechnology curriculum free of cost to NGIA and has committed to providing teacher training for our teachers. They are also in discussion with the Dean of Sciences at Houston Community College Northwest to collaborate and assist with the creation of a dual credit course pathway similar to the one they have in Austin Community College.
